Atlas of Humanity Exhibition
The Stationery Factory, Dalton, MA
Atlas of Humanity comes to the Berkshires! Innova Art Ltd. is proud to announce the Atlas of Humanity exhibition will be available for public viewing at the Stationery Factory in Dalton MA with an opening reception on Saturday Novermber 2.
Atlas of Humanity is an ongoing project, conceived and curated by Martin Vegas for DeFactory, a cultural non-profit association that serves as a meeting point for debate, exchange and promotion of artistic and cultural activities. The goal of this atlas is the mapping of the populations that inhabit our planet by way of a cultural-anthropological and ethnological reading: through dialogue and comparison, thus emerge cultural differences between ethnic groups.
Each photographer involved has allowed the photographs to focus on the diversity of the subject matter rather than trumpeting their own creative approach. The creative talent pool behind the collection is immense, many of these photographers are sometimes invisible to the general public and many are celebrated winners of prestigious international awards. All are united on a common journey: to show, without any claim of being comprehensive, the great wealth of the peoples that inhabit our planet in a choral vision of humanity.
The first print exhibition of this work, made possible by Innova Art, occurred at Photokina 2018 in Cologne, Germany, highlighting 140 images by 50 photographers from around the world, from Armenia to Yemen and Australia to Zimbabwe. Since it’s first showing, Atlas of Humanity has been seen by many in Italy, New York, Birmingham UK, Sharjah UAE, Tunis, Munich, and Chicago.
This exhibition will be on display at the Stationery Factory at 63 Flansburg Avenue in Dalton MA from October 21st until November 24th. The opening reception will be from 5 pm to 8 pm on Saturday November 2. Come be a part of the Atlas of Humanity.
